www.BoydsStuff.com Redesign - B2C eCommerce Alliance ProjectThe original webiste was an informational based website for collectors to merely look up information. The design focus on being more "Folksy" and had a country feel to reflect the Boyds' Brand. Major features include a member-only area with gift registry, member-only message board, and an open public area where we display our catalog showcasing all products and was driven dynamically using Cold Fusion and SQL database as the backend engine. FoB members can login to join forum, post photos, and look at member only news. We also sold membership subscription at the old website.A year ago, the company decided to explore into the eCommerce business and partnership with our network of retailer. I was appointed to manage the complete redesign and redevelope of the company's B2C website. This new website was redeigned to be retail eCommerce driven. The refresher site has a updated dealer locator, a real-time shopping cart that tied to a central inventory system as well as incorporating our retailer network alliance program. The design and "feel" of the new site is much more contemporary and has an ecommerce friendly user-interface. All products that are available for sale are scheduled into different "marketing pages" using hiearchy such as popular occasions, themes, collections, seasonals.
